Car canopies are made of metal or aluminum structure, with a cover material of a special perforated synthetic cloth, which allows air to pass, filters rainwater, completely removes snow and hail from the car, which can cause damage to the roof or windows. This particular cloth, in addition to its windproof property, reduces the ambient temperature by 5-6 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Alternatives for the synthetic cloth, are polycarbonate sheets, tarpaulin, and PVC.
